WHAT IS NJB?
NJB stands for National Junior Basketball.  NJB is a non-profit youth basketball league designed to develop basketball skills, good sportsmanship, and team competition.  Headquartered in Santa Ana, NJB has over 25,000 participants nationally.

WHEN ARE THE PRACTICES?
NJB teams practice twice a week.  The league tries to provide one indoor practice and also reserves time at local lighted parks for teams to pracice outdoors. 

Indoor practice time will typically be on Tuesday or Thursday at South Point Middle School between 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.,

  Practice days and  times will vary as they are often at the discretion of the coach, but usually the older teams will have the later time slots.

WHAT AGES CAN PLAY?
NJB offers three distinct programs for 
varying levels of competiion.  
Clinic is for grades 1 & 2
Divisional Play is for grades 3 to 8

WHEN/WHERE ARE THE GAMES?
NJB plays a 10 game schedule.  Games  are held in local gyms, usually Diamond Bar HS, South Point MS, and Lorbeer Middle School.  In some instances, games are played against teams from neighboring cities such as Walnut and Chino Hills.  Games are usually played on Sundays and the times will vary depending on the schedule.

ARE THE BOARD MEMBERS/COACHES PAID?
No, Diamond Bar NJB is made up entirely of volunteer parents who give their time to provide a fun and valuable learning experience for their children.


WHAT IS THE REGISTRATION FEE?
The 2006/2007 season registration is $75 
for grades 1 & 2, and $130 for grades 3 thru 8 

There is no league fundraiser but teams are required to solicit a sponsor.  


WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
100% of the registration fees and any fundraiser income goes towards running the league.  The costs associated with running NJB  include: facilities, uniforms, pictures, trophies, referees, scorekeepers, insurance, and sanction fees (sanction fees go directly  to National Headquarters).
